The Broadway Channel Expands its Media Reach with Array of New Outlets

RECENT DEALS INCLUDE
TIME WARNER CABLE, MAG RACK, SAMSUNG
AND THE NEW YORK TIMES ONLINE
 
New York, NY — It was recently announced that The New York Times will be incorporating theatrical trailers provided by The Broadway Channel into its popular online Theater section (NYTimes.com/Theater).  Beginning in early 2012, The New York Times website will begin featuring a “Broadway Previews” channel, consisting of The Broadway Channel’s exclusive video content from leading Broadway and Off-Broadway productions.  This announcement comes on the heels of a three other significant partnerships, with Time Warner Cable, Mag Rack, and Samsung, that together represent a giant leap forward in the reach and distribution of The Broadway Channel’s programming. 
 
“We are pleased to announce an expanded and comprehensive media reach that ensures theater fans everywhere will have greater access to The Broadway Channel’s programming.   Our increased media reach will greatly benefit both Broadway audiences and the theater world, as we continue to grow audiences while promoting the shows and the stars that keep Broadway and its theater lights bright!” stated Matthew Hege, Vice President, The Broadway Channel.
 
The Broadway Channel family of programming is now available to Time Warner Cable customers via Time Warner’s “Local on Demand” platform (Channel 1111).  “Local on Demand” is available to over 1.2 million Time Warner customers in Manhattan and the boroughs.
 
The Broadway Channel has also partnered with Mag Rack, making The Broadway Channel family of programming available on Mag Rack’s free Video On Demand television platform (available in more than 30 million homes, carried by operators including Comcast, Cablevision, Verizon FiOS, Charter, DirecTV and Dish). 
 
Even furthering its reach into living rooms and part of an ongoing new “App” initiative, The Broadway Channel also recently launched its Broadway Channel programming as part of Samsung’s TV Application platform known as Smart Hub.  The Broadway Channel app is available on 2010 and 2011 Samsung Smart TVs and Smart Blu-Ray players in the US and in Europe.   The app allow Samsung consumers access to The Broadway Channel family of programming and enables a reach into the widely growing consumer application platform.
